Emily Dynes is an experienced music producer, singer-songwriter and composer for stage and screen. Her compositional credits span short narratives, fashion films, live performance, documentaries and TVCs; including award-winning short film ‘Shepherd’ (dir. Clay Waddell) horror 'Farewell Father' (dir. Gennaro Gregory), historical piece 'Mister Herschell,' domestic drama 'Boyfriend' (dir. Zara Sengstock) and Vietnam thriller 'Phuong Hoang' (dir. Tim Smith). Her corporate work includes the Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria for the Organ Tissue Authority TVC and James Harper Apparel's summer campaign.

Emily created and performed the soundscape for ‘Waiting On You,’ a 2018 stage play written and directed by Gabrielle Pearson and performed live at the MTC’s Southbank Theatre over the show’s mini season, with critics describing her sound as ‘dynamic’ and ‘outstanding work.’ She was a finalist at the most recent St Kilda Film Festival, where she was nominated for ‘Best Score’ for her work on short film ‘To The Sea.’ Emily recently completed the score for ‘Lapse’ - a live dance performance created by acclaimed Australian choreographer Sian Kelly. She is currently working on the soundscape for ongoing visual series Deep End, as featured on Director’s Notes and supported by the City of Melbourne.

 

My work is created on Wurundjeri land, on the beautiful country which was stolen many years ago from the First Nations people of Australia. I acknowledge that I am privileged to be creating and working here, and pay my respects to all Indigenous peoples, past and present Elders.
